Cellulite is a problem a lot of women try hard to fight off. No one likes the unsightly dimpled appearance on our skin surface. This bit of fat deposit that becomes visible due to genetics, lifestyle, diet and hormonal imbalance, is stubborn and difficult to tackle.

However here are some ways in which you can reduce it. Apart from including certain bath and body products, there are a few lifestyle changes you will also have to adopt:

Tone and Stretch: Fat deposits are the main cause of cellulite. So, it goes without saying that you must do cardio workouts to melt the fat. Besides this, you must add toning and stretching exercises to break it down further. Try various stretches like touching your toes, plies and calf raises that will tone problem areas like gluts, thighs, tummy etc. Yoga is an effective way to say bye-bye to cellulite. Poses to try out are the plough pose, butterfly pose, warrior pose and triangle pose.

Eat right: Eating healthy food and keeping a constant healthy diet plan goes a long way in fighting cellulite too. Make sure your body gets a balance of good fats, proteins and carbs from oily fish, lean meats, whole grain, fruits and vegetables. Avoid processed foods that may cause bloating. It is also important to stay hydrated so that the surface of your skin looks even and supple. Proper hydration also helps release the excess fluid deposits, making your body look lean.

Exfoliate/dry brush: Exfoliating, dry brushing are other methods to reduce appearance of cellulite. Dry brushing and exfoliating is meant to open up pores of your skin, to encourage flow of blood and stimulate lymph flow. Begin brushing exfoliating in upward strokes- avoid back and forth movement and work in circular movements. Certain bath and body brands even offer clays and gels that help reduce cellulite. There are even massagers available at certain bath and body brands even have massagers to help break down cellulite and release toxins, encouraging formation of tighter skin. Try a coffee scrub made up of coffee grounds, sugar and almond oil or olive oil. Massage it thoroughly all over, especially on problem areas like thighs, tummy and glutes before rinsing out with warm water.

Sleep well: Getting good rest isn’t just beneficial for you overall health, but also helps in maintaining a healthy weight. Aim for at least seven to eight hours of sleep each night for optimum health.
