An overview of the Moto Z2 Play

The Moto Z2 Play is an Android smartphone and successor to the Moto Z Play. It was released in June 2017 and was developed by Motorola. The Moto Z2 Play is also compatible with the Moto Mods, which are attachable modifying devices that enhance your experience by either boosting sound, projecting images, or turbo-charging your battery.

The Moto Z2 Play comes with a 2.2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 system on chip (SOC) processor. This makes the phone perform 10% faster in comparison to the Snapdragon 625. The device also comes with either 3gb or 4gb of RAM and supports expandable external memory up to 2 TB with the help of a microSD card that can be fitted into the phone in a dedicated tray.

The notable changes in the physical appearance of the Moto Z2 Play are as follows

  • The home button in this model is an oval
  • The back plate is metallic, which in the previous models was glass; however, the front persists to be made up of (Corning Gorilla glass) glass.
  • Thickness reduced by 1 mm

The Motorola Moto Z2 Play has a 5.5-inch display, a 13.97-cm super AMOLED bright display, and an innovative modular design. The phone has a non-removable 3000 mAh battery and has a fingerprint sensor that is mounted in the back. This device comes in memory variants of 32gb and 64gb.

The Motorola Moto Z2 Play allows a threaded view SMS, MMS, IM, push email and email. This Moto model has other sensors such as a compass, proximity sensor, gyroscope and light sensor.

The Motorola Moto Z2 Play has a 12-megapixel rear or primary camera with laser autofocus, auto high definition resolution and face detection, and the front camera of this phone is 5 megapixels with a dual LED dual tone flash. The Moto Z2 Play works on an Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system that can be upgraded to 8.0 Android Oreo.

The device comes in color variants such as Fine Gold, Lunar Gray, Nimbus Blue and Super Black. The Moto Z2 Play weighs 145 grams, which is 5.11 ounces.

The Motorola Moto Z2 Play supports 2g, 3g and 4g networks, GPRS, and LTE. It has a water-repellent coating but is splash and dust resistant. The phone can be fitted with two nano SIMs.

Due to the turbo power charger, the phone can be charged up to 50% in just 30 minutes.

The dimensions of this Moto Z2 Play are 156.2×76.2×6.0 in millimeters, which in inches would is 6.15×3.0×0.24. the phone comes with 3.5-millimeter jack with a dedicated mic and active sound cancellation.
