How good is a Sony PlayStation 3

Making its debut back in 2006, when smartphones were new to the market and tablets weren’t even introduced, Sony’s PlayStation 3 was a breath of fresh air to the video gaming consoles and it quickly became a fan favorite. The PlayStation 3 console may not offer the best graphics and framerates, but it is still a great option when it comes to the budget. The PlayStation 3 can be bought new or used, and it boasts a vast game library and has similar media and entertainment features like the present PS4 Pro and Slim consoles. If one wishes to get a console for sheer fun, then the Sony PlayStation 3 is still one of the best console options.

The PlayStation 3 offers more than 1000 titles, including popular franchises like GTA, Mass Effect, and Call of Duty. There are also many franchises that are exclusive to the model like Ratchet and Clank, Metal Gear Solid, and Uncharted. Even the latest games like GTA 5, The Last of Us, and Destiny have compatible versions for the PlayStation 3 console. The PlayStation Store also lets users purchase games that were originally made for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation, and even the Sega Dreamcast. The PlayStation 3 has wireless single dual shock 3 controllers that use Bluetooth for connection, and the joysticks can be charged with micro USB cables. The joystick controller has two analog sticks, four buttons for direction, and four action keys. The top of the joystick has four shoulder triggers. Over time, the PlayStation 3 has developed many accessories, some originally made by Sony and many made by third-party manufacturers. Sony provides both wireless and wired headsets along with media remotes, Dual shock 3 charging stands, and a keyboard and touchpad as an attachment for the controller. Sony also provides motion-controlled accessory in the name of Sony PlayStation Move, which was an answer to other motion-based gaming consoles. The PlayStation 3 was the first Sony console to offer in-built online connectivity for update downloads. The store also lets the user purchase the latest games and other media content online. Over the years, the PlayStation 3 has had many physical alterations, and the present one is trimmed down to 11.4 x 2.4 x 9.1 inches in dimension and weighs around 4.6 pounds. The PS3 uses a PowerPC cell processor with just 256 Mb of RAM. The graphics card used is an RSX NVIDIA card, which might not be the best when compared to many of the present consoles. Specification wise the PS3 might not offer the best performance when put head to head versus the current gaming consoles, it is still a good option for people looking for fun at a reduced price.
